Travelling to Kazakhstan I really didn’t know what to expect. It’s the 9th biggest country in the world with a fascinating history, beautiful landscapes, diverse group of people and an ultra-modern capital juxtaposed with a rather underdeveloped country side.

Croatia Snorkelling

When I was offered the opportunity to carry out my Master’s project on high altitude lakes in Ecuador, I immediately got excited. The idea of travelling to a beautiful tropical country and doing fieldwork above 4000 m captivated both the curiosity-driven ecology student and the photographer in me.
